Auburn women’s tennis falls to Georgia on road in showdown of No. 1s

Auburn couldn't pull off a win for the record books on the road. Here's a look at some good news, and bad news, for the Tigers and how the match went down.

DJ Bennett and Ava Esposito battled back to get a swinging chance in the doubles point.

Auburn by that moment had lost on Court 2, but was up a break on Court 3. The doubles point was coming down to Court 1, and Bennett and Esposito had forced their way into break point down 4-5.

If Auburn won the game, their match would be tied 5-5 with all momentum reset. Georgia forced a deciding point with a volley at the net:

That point moved the game to a deciding point, both break point for Auburn and match point for Georgia.

That’s when Georgia came up with the serve it needed.
