Auburn men's golf tees off this morning in the NCAA Championship quarterfinals, with the semifinals scheduled to follow later Tuesday.
No pod today! The storms that rolled through yesterday knocked out power at Torch Headquarters until early this morning. Torch Talk will be back tomorrow.

It’s doubleheader day at the men’s golf NCAA Championship. The last eight teams standing enter match play Tuesday — and by the end of Tuesday’s 36 holes, only two teams will be left standing for Wednesday’s national championship final.
Concluding another sensational season, title-contending Auburn enters match play with the No. 1 seed in the bracket, going a tournament-best 26-under over four rounds of stroke play. However, no No. 1 seed has won match play at the men’s championship since 2018, so there’s plenty of work left ahead for the Tigers.
Auburn plays Stanford in the quarters, with the winner advancing to face the winner of Florida and Oklahoma State. Texas, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Arizona are on the other side of the bracket.
Auburn first tees off at 9:40 a.m. Central.

In match play, the team that wins the best three of five matchups is victorious and advances.
In match play, golfers win holes against each other. It doesn’t matter how much you win a hole by: Winning the first hole simply gives a golfer a one-hole lead, regardless of whether they eagled and the opponent triple bogeyed, or whatever the case may be. Matchups are clinched early when a golfer has an insurmountable lead, leading by more holes than there are left on the course.
Tee times for the semifinals will be set after the conclusion of the quarterfinal round.
