Here’s a look at the storylines surrounding five Auburn athletes this week, and why you should follow their performances this week:

Ja’Kobe Tharp

  • Sport: Men’s track and field

  • Class: Junior

  • Event: Sprints/hurdles

  • Competing: Saturday at SEC Indoor Championships, roughly 5:22 p.m. on SEC Network+

The reigning SEC Indoor Champion at the 60-meter hurdles looks to defend his crown, when Tharp and the Tigers compete at SEC indoors this weekend. Tharp in a sensational year last year went on to also win the NCAA Indoor Championship in the 60-meter hurdles as well. His path to another championship sweep begins Saturday. Tharp on Feb. 13 at Clemson ran the 60-meter hurdles in a blistering 7.46 seconds, the fastest mark recorded in the country so far this indoor season.
