Jackson Koivun to forgo senior season, join PGA Tour starting July 1
“I will always carry the A-U with me as a proud member of the Auburn Family.”

Auburn’s all-time great is going pro.
Leaving the Tigers with two national championships and a trophy case full of awards — completing one of the greatest college golfing careers in the history of the sport — Jackson Koivun announced Friday that he’ll be forgoing his senior season and joining the PGA Tour.
Koivun during his college career earned enough points through the PGA Tour U Accelerated program to get his Tour card, and will make his professional debut July 1 at the John Deere Classic.
“I’m grateful to everyone at Auburn University for giving me the most incredible college experience I could’ve ever imagined,” Koivun said in a release from the university. “From bringing home a pair of national championships to the late nights and early mornings grinding at the facility and competing alongside guys I’ll call brothers for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
“With that being said, I’ve decided to forego my senior year to pursue my lifelong dream of playing on the PGA Tour. To my teammates, coaches, support staff, fans and most importantly, my family, thank you for supporting me in this chapter of my life. I am incredibly excited for what’s ahead, but no matter where this game takes me, I will always carry the A-U with me as a proud member of the Auburn Family.”
Auburn won the national championship June 3 by defeated UCLA in the NCAA Championship match play final in Carlsbad, Calif.
Auburn had no seniors on its 2026 national championship roster. Koivun, Cayden Pope and Josiah Gilbert were junior starters for Auburn, and Jake Albert and Logan Reilly were freshmen.
Next season, if everyone returns, Pope and Gilbert will be seniors, Albert and Reilly will be sophomores, and there will ostensibly be an opening in the starting lineup for rising junior Billy Davis — a former No. 1 overall recruit as ranked by Golfweek — who was Auburn’s traveling alternate this past season.
