In a dream deal, Auburn is bringing international soccer to Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn announced on Tuesday that Argentina and Iceland will play a friendly in Jordan-Hare on June 9 just days before the FIFA World Cup kicks off.

It’ll be a first-of-its-kind event for Jordan-Hare Stadium. The World Cup, in North America this year, is a global phenomenon, and Auburn will be hosting a match just as the anticipation for the tournament reaches a boil. Auburn will not only be hosting an international match, but it’ll be hosting the defending World Cup champions in Argentina.

And Auburn may well be hosting a global superstar and one of the sport’s greatest players of all time: Lionel Messi.
