Kayinsola Ajayi got his smile back.

Seen gnashing his teeth on the ESPN broadcast and putting a towel over his head in visible frustration Friday after making a major mistake in the 100-meter prelims, Ajayi less than 24 hours got his redemption — and got SEC gold after all.

Ajayi was inserted into the men’s 4x100 relay roster for Auburn in time for Saturday’s final, and the squad captured one of two golds and one of four medals overall for the Tigers at the SEC Championship meet.
